De aanzegster
On tour Fall 2021. Dates to be announced Spring 2021.
In the Western theatre repertoire, there are precious few leading women’s roles that can easily stand alongside a role like Hamlet, Oedipus or Uncle Vanya. Zuidpool is changing that, and is working with grand master Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer.
A renowned actress decides to remain silent no longer. As a victim of male oppression and abuse of power, she tells her story in the media. Before she knows it, she becomes the face of a worldwide movement that makes its mark at all levels of society. Until she herself is accused...
“De Aanzegster” is a contemporary tragedy in which truth and fake news mix indistinguishably in a struggle that is conducted via the media. A struggle in which images are more powerful and more fatal than facts.
Jorgen Cassier directs an exceptional team of actors: Sofie Decleir, Koen van Kaam, Robby Cleiren, Stijn Van Opstal and Kenneth Cardon. The eminent musician Els Vandeweyer plays live vibraphone and percussion.
